Types of Cancer

cancer-headlineCancer is regarded as a class of diseases with the characteristic of having abnormal cell growth that produces harm to the body upon the uncontrollable division of damaged. The tumors grow and interfere with the nervous, digestive, and circulatory systems. Tumors also release hormones which causes alteration in the body function.
Types of cancers include the following:

Bladder Cancer – the cancer arises from the urinary bladder’s epithelial lining. The most known type of bladder cancer summarizes the normal histology of urothelium which is called the transitional cell carcinoma or urothelial cell carcinoma. It is characterized by hematuria. Individuals with bladder cancer will have painful and frequent urination.

Breast Cancer – it develops from the tissues of the breast. Signs of breast cancer include breast lump, breast shape change, skin dimpling, fluid that comes from the nipple, and red scaly patch of the skin. If the disease spreads, the individual may have pain in the bone, lymph node swelling, yellow skin, or shortness of breath.

Lung Cancer – it is otherwise known as pulmonary carcinoma or carcinoma of the lung. Its uncontrolled cell growth is in the lung tissues. The most known symptoms of lung cancer include coughing or hemoptysis, shortness of breath, weight loss, and chest pain.

Colon and Rectal Cancer – it is a cancer involving the colon or rectum. It is also known as colorectal cancer. Clients with this type of cancer will have bloody stools, change in bowel movements, weight loss, and fatigue.
Endometrial Cancer – the cancer arises from the uterine lining which is called the endometrium. It is usually presented with vaginal bleeding.

Kidney Cancer – the cells in the kidneys are affected. Two types of kidney cancer include the renal cell carcinoma and the urothelial cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis. The most common manifestations are abdominal mass and bloody urine. Other symptoms include weight loss, fatigue, appetite loss, increased temperature, profuse sweating, and pain in the abdomen that is persistent.

Leukemia – a cancer that usually starts in the bone marrow resulting in many abnormal white blood cells. There is no full development of these white blood cells which are called blasts or leukemia cells. Included in the symptoms are bruising and bleeding problems, fatigue, and increased risk of infections.

Melanoma – it is a skin cancer affecting the melanocytes. The most common site for women is the legs while the men are on the back. Signs include mole shape or color changes and new lump in any part of the skin.
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma – it involves diverse group of blood cancers including lymphoma of any kind except Hodgkin’s lymphomas. The cancer type of lymphomas is derived from the lymphocytes.

Pancreatic Cancer – it develops in the pancreas that shows signs and symptoms including back or abdominal pain, yellow skin, light-colored stools, weight loss, dark urine and the hunger is lost.

Prostate Cancer – also recognized as carcinoma of the prostate. The cancer cells may spread from the prostate to other body parts like the lymph nodes and bones. It is asymptomatic initially and will have difficulty in urinating, bloody urine, or pelvic pain in the later stage.

Thyroid Cancer – the cancer originates from the follicular or parafollicular thyroid cells. Its symptoms include nodule in the neck in the thyroid region, change in voice, and pain in the anterior region of the neck.
